vintage barkcloth handbags

from 110.00

Our handbag size. Inspired by furoshiki and designed with both beauty and utility in mind. Go from the market to yoga to a picnic in the park without missing a beat. Can be used with the handle or self knotted.

Made from vintage 1930s/40s tropical print barkcloth, cut from unused yargdages.

Each bag has been pre-shrunk and can be machine washed on a cold gentle cycle after the handle has been removed. Line dry or tumble dry on low. If desired, iron on linen setting with the bag inside out.

The handles are made from Latigo Leather. The handle has two D-rings on either end for your bag to loop through. There are three attachments points for clipping on a key strap, bottle holster or the ‘not just a blanket’ carrier. The leather will soften over time but will not stretch a considerable amount. Natural marks, blemishes and slight colour variation should be expected.

Option 1 is a soft white with turquoise and pink tropical frond accents. This comes with a Wide Handle in Black

Option 2 is mint green, with yellow and pink floral accents. This comes with a Wide Handle in Natural Tan.

Option 3 has an very subtle lilac grey base, with tropical red, green and yellow accents. This comes with an Original Handle in Burgundy.

Please allow 1-3 days before shipping as we produce in small batches to keep it local. Thank you for your patience.
